This single answer determines almost everything else — cost model, offline behaviour, privacy posture, and speed. Cloud software sends each capture to a server; local software runs the models on your GPU. Ask before you compare features.
Credits, tokens, and per-image fees turn your busiest event into your least profitable one. Check whether the plan is truly unlimited or whether 'unlimited' applies only to non-AI captures.
Ask vendors this exact question. Some booths queue uploads and deliver late; others simply stop. If the software processes locally, the answer is that nothing happens at all.
Corporate and wedding clients notice image quality immediately, especially in prints. DSLR tethering on Windows (via digiCamControl) gives you real shutter, ISO, and focus control instead of fixed tablet-camera output.

Neither column is universally correct. If you run occasional events in venues with reliable networks and you don't want to own a GPU machine, cloud is genuinely simpler. If you run weddings, expos, or high-volume weekends, the offline column removes the two risks you can't control: someone else's network and someone else's per-photo bill.
